3-year plan $71.49 or $1.99/month

How the free version of AtlasVPN works

Atlas VPN offers a free version of the paid plan, which has a data limit of 10 GB. It doesn’t have the same capabilities as the paid plan because it isn’t designed to download and stream large media files.

Must Read: Best VPN Services For Linux

Atlas VPN is the cheapest and most reliable online security software on the market. As a free user, you have access to servers in Netherlands and USA, but there are some limitations in the free version, such as not having access to streaming-optimized servers.

Atlas VPN has 700+ servers, meaning it is possible to find a faster server in times of need. However, the low number of locations means that you may have trouble finding a server that works in your area.

Right now, Atlas VPN offers 40 server locations across Europe. However, in other parts of the world, you can only choose between a few countries.

When connecting your VPN to a server, you will be given an option to choose the SafeSwap feature. Servers that use this feature will route the traffic through multiple IP addresses making it near impossible to find its original owner.

Best Android VPN

The user interface is not cluttered, which makes the Android App of Atlas VPN user-friendly. The Android app has been around much longer than the desktop version. With the availability of a data breach check system, you can see if your emails are on public record. You also have the option to toggle safe browsing or to change the browser’s homepage.

The app is functional and easy to use, thus I’d recommend it over other VPN apps for Android.

How to use the AtlasVPN app on iOS

AtlasVPN Mobile IOS Screenshot

Companies should make their apps for both Android and iOS with a similar appearance and feel.

The only difference I could find between iOS and Android is the safety browser feature. On iOS, it’s called SafeBrowse Plus and on Android, it’s called SafeBrowse. The share usage statistics button is in a different place for each OS, but it doesn’t have a strong effect on your experience.

The advantages of AtlasVPN for MacOS

MacOS VPN app is designed in the same way as mobile apps. It has rounded corners, making it pleasing to the eye, and menus that are easy to navigate There’s no need for a server search function; you scroll through the list. When logging in with a 2FA, every time you log in from a new device you must confirm the code sent to your email. AtlasVPN Provides The Best Mac VPN

When I used the AtlasVPN app on the macOS, it was a smoother experience. Rounding off text and image scaling can be enhanced, but reading the text was still enjoyable.

When I did not select the connection point, the app connected me to the closest available one. The difference is that the server and its location are not displayed prominently on the list making it difficult to find which server has a green icon next to it. Customization options, such as the ability to toggle between light and dark mode, exist.

The features of the Atlas VPN

Atlas VPN has some great qualities. Even though it doesn’t have a large variety of features, it still has a few things to shout about.

One of the device’s top features is its malicious site blocker, which will make sure your device doesn’t get infected with malware. The VPN also offers IP address rotation, which is a pretty unique feature. Lastly, you might appreciate its data breach checker that will let you know whether your information is still safe.

A Critique of freemium VPNs in terms of their security

You can turn on SafeBrowse, an optional security measure for browsing with a VPN. When you visit a website that society has agreed is unsafe, SafeBrowse will send you to the blacklist page.

Cyberghost and NordVPN have their own variations of the same feature, at a premium. If you would like to use it on these services, you need to subscribe.

Why SafeSwap is so great

Recently, Atlas VPN introduced SafeSwap, a unique feature that detects the IP address of your device when you connect to their servers. When you choose one of their servers with this feature enabled, while you’re connected your IP address can be changed.

SafeSwap automatically switches IP addresses with each website you visit. This means that if you have multiple tabs open, the server will change depending on which one you are actively viewing.

SafeSwap has multiple IPs, making it difficult to track the IP that your data is transferred on. However, this does not typically result in a speed drop.

There are three places you can use SafeSwap: the Netherlands, Singapore, and the United States. I suspect that they’re planning to increase the number of servers. Though I don’t think the increase will be exponential because they have to buy a lot of IP addresses to set up one server.

AtlasVPN is available to download on Android, iOS, and Windows devices.

Data Breach Prevention Tips

This is a premium feature for new models that uses machine learning to find if your data has appeared in any data breaches. This can be seen as beneficial, but some may see it as dangerous information.

If you find yourself in the situation of a data breach, you can quickly check what type of data was leaked.

What does Atlas VPN offer?

This VPN service has everything you would want for a VPN, but the variety of tunneling protocols could be upgraded. The acquisition of Atlas VPN by Nord Security will mean that both companies share the same security standards and practices.

What AtlasVPN do

Connecting to one of Atlas VPN’s servers encrypts your online activity, ensuring that you\’re shielded from anyone trying to gain access. Atlas VPN uses the AES-256 cipher and has also implemented ChaCha20 encryption, for next-generation security.

There are two major tunneling protocols: IPSec/IKEv2, and WireGuard. The latter has faster speeds than IPSec/IKEv2, so I recommend it if you use Atlas VPN. You can find WireGuard on Android, Windows, macOS, and iOS devices.

Why is logging important?

Unfortunately, the United States is too much of a risk for an international company such as Atlas VPN and is also doesn’t provide privacy to its citizens.

However, just like other anonymous VPN services, Atlas VPN is not logging any private information. The document says that they are not storing any private information in their logs.

They have a policy where you can contact them to have your account permanently deleted, but California users can also ask for the data companies have on them. It’s a step in the right direction.

Protect yourself online with a Kill Switch

A safety feature called the Kill Switch can shut down your internet traffic if a link to the VPN server is disrupted to help prevent data leaks. We perform two tests: by disabling background VPN processes and blocking the connection from a router.

In the first test, the kill switch worked well and killed my Internet access when there was a block. My only qualm is that it didn’t notify me that it had been triggered. I liked that I could re-enable my Internet service by disabling and enabling the kill switch.

The second test was more complicated than usual. The client doesn’t support OpenVPN, so processes are tied to the client. This makes things complicated, as I had to disable the client with the kill switch turned on to test the kill switch.

Customer service experience with AtlasVPN

AtlasVPN offers customers is offered with secure, unlimited bandwidth access through the app. If you click on the FAQ section of the app, you can find a list of general explanations and workarounds for solving any technical issues.

If you have any questions, Atlas VPN has a support number; the free users can contact Atlas via email while Premium subscribers are able to instantaneously chat with a representative. They responded to emails within hours while they answered online chats almost instantly. This is as good of customer service as you will find anywhere.
